Horikita named Best Leathernist

// November 2nd, 2009 // 2 Comments » // News

leather_001It was time for the annual "Best Leathernist" Awards and this year our Horikita Maki and Panzetta Girolamo were chosen to look the best in leather clothes. Girolamo was happy to share the award with Horikita and even said that, "She’s a beautiful person."

Horikita attended the event wearing a nice dress and a racing jacket. Together with her fresh hairstyle, she had a much cooler look than usual. "You have a very cute face, so this fashion really suits you." Girolamo complimented her. "She already looked so beautiful backstage, I simply had to greet her before appearing in front of the reporters." He revealed. Horikita enjoyed his words and replied with a smile, "Thank you very much."

Things turned out even better for her, because she even received a surprise present from Girolamo. They prepared 3 different clutch wallets for him to choose from and he selected the colorful as present for Horikita. Giving away presents he didn’t even prepare himself? He thought the same and went out of his way to make an arrangement with the sponsor to give her the just introduced leather booths as well. Horikita couldn’t help but being smitten with his charms.

Further into the event, Horikita also revealed that she really loves to wear leather jackets in her private time. Therefore she was especially happy to be chosen as the best leathernist of 2009. "There’s a certain thing about women who wear leather. I’d like to become a cool woman who looks good in leather." She proclaimed. Girolamo still wasn’t running out of nice words for Horikita. "More than winning the award, I’m happy to be standing next to such a beautiful woman." The reporters had a good laugh as his face turned red right after saying this.

In Japan, November 3rd got chosen to be the "Good Leather Day" and they are using the same day to honor those celebs who look the best in leather outfits. Last year’s awardees were the actor Tanihara Shosuke and the actress/model Karina.

Fashion’s Night Out 2009

// October 3rd, 2009 // No Comments » // News

In a global initiative to promote retail, restore consumer confidence, and celebrate fashion, U.S. and international editions of “Vogue” are coordinating evening extravaganzas in their respective world fashion capitals, including New York City, the UK, France, Japan and 9 more countries.

In Japan, the event happened at night in Tokyo, of course. The big event happened in Omotesando and Aoyama and had a lot of beautiful stars as guests with model Tominaga Ai leading the way. Other famous guests included Tsuchiya Anna, Yoshikawa Hinano and Horikita Maki. All special guests brought along some of their favorite and precious items to sell at a charity auction.

The host of the event, Chris Pepper (Christopher Daniel Pepper) especially was into Horikita’s favorite pink “miu miu” coffer bag. His slightly perverted comment about the bag – “Horikita-san’s sweat somewhat soaked into it!” – was a bit random for such a fashion event and both Tominaga and Tsuchiya also labeled him as a pervert, but in the end it sold for 50,000 Yen ($550). Of course it was all just for fun and the auction was a big success. All the money will be contributed to “Kokkyo naki Kodomotachi (KnK)” and the “Hayaki Foundation”.

Supermodel Tominaga Ai who kinda appeared like an ambassador for worldwide fashion had her own way of supporting retail and showing consumer confidence. With many activities in other fashion capitals such as Paris, Tominaga doesn’t always have the time to go shopping in Tokyo or Japan in general, but today she really went on a shopping spree. “I wanted to go shopping at so many places, but I already bought way too much after only 20 shops.” She said at the closing ceremony with lots of shopping bags in both hands. It’s said that she spent several millions of yen in less than 3 hours.
