03/19 – "Tokujo Kabachi!! all wrapped up ★

"Tokujo Kabachi!!", we've been filming it since November,
but now we are done with all the scenes~!

She's smiling there, with the very nice weather, a bunch of flowers and a collection of autographs in her hand.

Well then, the recording part is over, but that doesn't mean that this is it!
The established live broadcasts are still left to be done.
On the 19th she will also be on "Evening Wide"
and on the 20th on "Brunch"!

Cast of Dareka ga Watashi ni Kiss wo Shita on Opening Day

Horikita Maki, Matsuyama Kenichi, Tegoshi Yuya and Hans Canosa were at Shinjuku Wald 9 on 27th March for the opening day of the movie Dareka ga Watashi ni Kiss wo Shita.

"With a foreign director, it made for a stimulating set. There are many scenes with only Japanese people too but being with people from different cultures was a learning point. I think the film will act as a good cultural exchange as well,"commented Matsuyama on the international cast and staff.

This is the first that Tegoshi has worked with a foreign film director too. "Together with Director Hans, we picked out the glasses and outfits I would wear. From the start, we would have discussions before making any decisions. Everyday was something new. With English used on set, I was able to experience the feeling of an international school. There was something to look forward to everyday." Hans Canosa commented,"I love Japan. It has been one of my dreams to make a movie with Japanese actors. I am very happy to have worked with the 3 stars who are wonderful people as well."

"What if 3 men confessed to you in real life?" asked reporters to Horikita. "I… I'll boast about it to my friends,"she replied laughing. To the two actors, reporters asked,"If you were a girl, would you date cool Yuji, gentle Mirai or enthusiastic and cheerful Ace?" Matsuyama replied,"Probably Mirai. I have a connection to my character. I myself can be complicated and messy so the character Yuji is a little unpleasant." Tegoshi agreed,"Yuji is out for me too, sorry. I'll choose the boyish and frank Ace." As for Horikita, she replied,"I like complicated, messy people, so Yuji." As Matsuyama did his victory pose, Horikita quipped,"Because he (Matsuyama) just requested very softly that I say that." Matsuyama quickly replied,"You're not supposed to tell!" At the end, the four of them threw tulips, a flower that symbolizes love, into the crowd.

DareKiss press event with Horikita

A few days ago there was another little press event with Horikita Maki (21) in Sapporo to promote her upcoming movie "Dareka ga Watashi ni Kissu wo Shita ~Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac~."

The movie is set at an international school and Horikita plays a girl named Naomi who looses her memories of the past 4 years after falling down a stairway. After that she suddenly finds herself in a love quadrangle with 3 other guys played by young Terminator 4 star Anton Yelchin, NEWS’ Tegoshi Yuuya and actor Matsuyama Kenichi.

"Naomi’s heart is in a conflict, since there are suddenly 3 men in her life. However, there are also various way to enjoy this situation." Horikita seems like she enjoyed being surrounded by 3 ikemen and she also enjoyed being in Hokkaido again for the promotions. It’s her 3rd time she already traveled to Japan’s northernmost island. "When I was 15 we went to Otaru. The snow here is so beautiful. Some time ago we also went here to eat some sushi." Good to hear she finds enough time in her crammed schedule for such day trips.

Lastly some more words to promote the movie, "It isn’t just a love story, there are also a lot of moments about family. I hope you will watch and enjoy it."

Maki is praying for love

On the 10th actress Horikita Maki visited the Imado Shrine in Tokyo to pray for some personal love and for the success of her upcoming movie "Dareka ga Watashi ni Kissu wo Shita ~Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac~".

The Imado Shrine is a famous place to pray for a successful love life and marriage. It has a history of almost 1000 years (opened in the year 1063) and even was the birthplace of the now worldwide popular beckoning cat, a figure that is supposed to bring a thriving business. Horikita and 10 other women who are currently in a relationship made a special charm and prayed for a successful love. After the prayer they picked some Omikujis as well. Omikujis are strips of papers that you can find at Shinto shrines. They have certain fortunes written on them, it’s like a lottery for a good fortune. Horikita was quite happy as she picked one with "Excellent Luck".

Looking back at the love prayer, it seems like that Horikita is definitely seeking a love life as soon as possible. "I was quite nervous during the ceremony, but I hope that it will help me ending up in a nice relationship. I still haven’t found the right partner, but I will try my best to get a love life." Since we are already at this topic, what’s her favorite type of men again? "It should be a kind person. He should be a reliable adult, since I’m not that reliable myself." Does she already worry about something like marriage? "I still have to get in a relationship in the first place, so I’m not yet looking forward to get married. For now it’s fun being a solitary person… That just sounded hopeless, didn’t it?" She warned herself that she shouldn’t think that way.

At the moment she’s not in a relationship, but she still must have some Valentine memories. "I’ve never given chocolate to someone I like." She bashfully confessed. "DareKiss" is about a young girl called Naomi (Horikita) who is in a happy relationship but suddenly looses her memory of the past 4 years after an accident. She slowly tries to get back her memory while her old boyfriend (Anton Yelchin) tries to make her fall in love with him again, her best friend (Tegoshi Yuuya) starts to develop feelings for her and a third guy (Matsuyama Kenichi) falls in love with her to create the perfect love quadrangle. It’s set at an international school in Tokyo, so there is a big amount of English lines throughout the movie.

By the way, the special charm she made during that event will be duplicated and given to the first 5000 people buying a ticket for the movie in advance. Presale for the tickets will start on February 13, so you better hurry to get Horikita’s handmade love charm. The actual movie will open in Japan on March 27.

Maki cheering on Japanese Olympic team

Actress Horikita Maki (21) participated in a special event at the JOC (Japanese Olympic Committee) organized by NTT DoCoMo to present the special DoCoMo support flag.

DoCoMo chose Maki as their special supporter for the Winter Olympics and asked her to participate in the specially created event to hand over the flag filled with written support messages to JOC special director and former hand-ball player Ichihara Noriyuki (68).

The flag is going to reach the Japanese team before the start of the Olympics on the 12th and female figure skater Asada Mao (19) seems to be one of Maki’s favorites. They are the same generation after all, but is there really anybody who doesn’t love Asada? "I enjoyed it a lot when she won the Four Continents Figure Skating Championships and I’d like to cheer for her so that she can continue her streak in Vancouver." Are there any ikemen athletes that came to the attention of Maki? "I don’t look at them that way…" She answered with a wry smile.

Maki likes confident kissers?

Today was the press conference for "Dareka ga Watashi ni Kiss wo Shita ~ MEMOIRS OF A TEENAGE AMNESIAC~" at the "New Otani" hotel in Akasaka, Tokyo. The main cast including Horikita Maki, Matsuyama Kenichi, Tegoshi Yuuya and Anton Yelchin as well as director Hans Canosa all attended the event to talk about the movie and other quite interesting topics.

The movie is basically all about a love rectangle with 3 guys trying to win (back) the heart of 1 girl who just lost her memory of the past 4 years due to an accident. There is the actual boyfriend (Yelchin) whom she can’t recall to be in a relationship with at all, the new guy (Matsuyama) she starts to fall in love with and her always supportive good friend (Tegoshi) who soon starts to feel more than just friendship. During the filming the 3 actors Matsuyama, Tegoshi and Yelchin were able to become really good friends despite the language barrier. "We really made a lot of nice memories together and often would have a meal together with Anton during our free time." Matsuyama said with a smile. Yelching replied: "It feels like I got myself another home."

"How would you guys proceed, if you wanted to kiss the girl you really like a lot?" That was the main question of the event and everyone shared their own opinions and experiences.
Matsuyama started: "I really would think a lot about the right place and the right timing, but eventually nothing would go according to the plan and I would miss the opportunity to kiss her."

What about Tegoshi? "I would leave the house in the morning with the words, ‘I’ll definitely do it today!’ and try to kiss her as soon as there is an opening, but usually I would fail."

Yelchin’s story isn’t that much different either. "I once asked the girl I liked: ‘May I kiss you?’ I guess I should have been a bit more aggressive…"

"How can you ask that? (laughs)" Those answers must have been a letdown for Maki, because she actually would like the boy to be more self-confident when trying to kiss her. "Boys really should be a bit pushy regarding the first kiss." She said with an eager expression. Director Canossa defended the male gender: "It would actually be a warm welcome, if the girls tried to kiss the boys instead." Yelchin wholeheartedly agreed and immediately responded: "YES! YES!"

The reporters really enjoyed this little talk and laughed a lot after Yelchin’s final response.

The movie will open in Japan on March 27.

Tokujo Kabachi Press Conference

Arashi member Sho Sakurai and actress Maki Horikita attended the press release conference for the new drama "Tokujo Kabachi/特上カバチ!!" in Tokyo a few days ago. The character played by Horikita, an administrative scrivener, is quite "S" and always torments the character of Sakurai. "It is my first challenge to a character of an aggressive career woman." commented Horikita. "She becomes ‘S’ gradually during the hard work. She feels better when she is more dominant than others." she said with a quick grin.

And Sakurai introduced himself with "This is Sakurai with the mssochistic face". The colleague actor Kenichi Endo commented Sakurai’s character: "Last time, Arashi appeared in a singing program, and I thought Sho-kun was going to sing. But suddenly he rapped fluently. I was shocked. Though my character in the drama is always angry (with Sho-kun), I admire him a lot." On the other hand, Sakurai mentioned his experience with senior actors with his eyes sparkling: "I don’t have a lot of experience in playing with many seniors. I feel quite fresh with Endo-san, Katsumi Takahashi-san, and Masatoshi Nakamura-san. And I have learned a lot from them in a joyful way."

Horikita said jokingly: "Though it is my first time to play with Sakurai-san, Tamura (Sakurai) and Misuzu (Horikita) hate each other in the drama, I try to be unlovely in the always." "It’s totally not like this! We couldn’t stop laughing in the spot!" Sakurai explained quickly. According to the title of drama, Horikita was asked about the "Tokujo/特上"(premium) experience recently, "It’s quite not that luxury yet. I drink tea in a champagne glass. Some one sent me a set of superfine glasses, but I don’t drink alcohol in home and I don’t want to waste it…" answered Horikita.

Maki’s new DoCoMo CM, don’t get jealous!

Today NTT DoCoMo announced their new winter/spring mobile phones models for the last half of their 2009 fiscal year. Of course there are going to be new commercials with the new models. Horikita Maki, Matsuyama Kenichi and Gekidan Hitori attended the announcement event to present each of their new commercials.

The theme for the new commercials will be "VERSION UP!" with Maki’s edition being called the "STYLE Illumination" edition. The word illumination is already indicating that we are going to see some Christmas lights, but the warm and fuzzy feeling will even get topped by a supposed boyfriend of Maki embracing her from behind. It’s a nice short scene that makes it difficult not to get jealous…

Back to the event, Horikita gained a lot of attention with her impressive and gorgeous blue sleeveless dress. In her hand she was holding the model of the STYLE series, F-02B, a phone that even adsorbs some kind of perfume. "That’s exactly the kind of phone a woman needs to express her own individuality." Maki praised it on stage. "It has so many beautiful shining lights that make it impossible to loose your phone anymore. Just like this phone, I’d like to polish my charms as a lady as well." She continued.

The CM itself is easy to understand, so I won’t explain the story (watch the clip below). Overall there is a very nice athmosphere and her boyfriend embracing her from behind under some Christmas lights. "You really long for a situation like that, don’t you? The sparkling kind of athmosphere." The highlight of that scene is her expression when she’s getting hugged. In case you wonder about that young actor, his name is Kaku Kento. The filming was said to be awkward for both of them. Lucky him!

All 3 commercials will begin being broadcasted throughout November.
